The correct-handed reliever was placed on the injured record on April 29, retroactive to April 28, as a result of a proper calf pressure. The L.A. veteran has not had a strong begin to the season. In 12 appearances to date, he’s recorded a 4.63 ERA, 12 strikeouts, and a 1.11 WHIP over 11.2 innings.
Kelly started his throwing program in late Could, taking step one towards making his return. Since then, he has been taking part in catch at 90 toes. The 35-year-old was positioned on the 15-day injured record on Could 6 as a result of a proper shoulder pressure. The correct-hander should still have to ramp up his workload and even make a minor league look for a rehab task.
