Middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis places his title on the road for the primary time at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia towards former two-time titleholder Israel Adesanya. Du Plessis plans to win that struggle and transfer on to the following opponent.
Du Plessis captured the title by defeating Sean Strickland through break up determination at UFC 294 in January, and Strickland has been calling for a rematch for the reason that judges’ scorecards have been learn by Bruce Buffer. However Du Plessis thinks Strickland should ‘wait some time’ earlier than he fights for the title once more.
“The winner of Khamzat [Chimaev] and Robert Whittaker goes to get the title shot. That is going to occur,” Du Plessis advised SHAK MMA. “Strickland says he will wait till he will get a title shot. He will look forward to fairly some time. In my view, he will look forward to some time.”
Du Plessis would not actually care who he faces after Adesanya, assuming he defeats “The Final Stylebender” on Aug. 18th. Whittaker and Strickland each have stable instances to be subsequent in line, however Du Plessis believes the struggle promotion needs Chimaev to struggle for the championship if it had its alternative.
“If Whittaker beats Khamzat, a three-fight win streak, he is 100-percent getting the title shot. The UFC has been wanting to offer Khamzat a title shot since his debut,” Du Plessis mentioned. “Possibly if it is a draw, and Khamzat will nonetheless get the title shot in my view.”
“For me, it is concerning the struggle the followers need to see; which one goes to be the largest struggle; which struggle is the one the followers suppose goes to be the most effective struggle? I need to struggle the most effective man on the planet each single time,” Du Plessis continued. “Truthfully, it makes no distinction to me who steps in there.”
