On the eve of final weekend’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix, the primary trailer for the F1 film that has been co-produced by seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton and set to hit cinemas this summer season has been launched.
The brand new movie that can be named F1 has been created by the filmmakers of High Gun: Maverick, F1 stars Brad Pitt and Damson Idris and is directed by Joseph Kosinski. It’s produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, Pitt, Lewis Hamilton, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner and Chad Oman, and was penned by Ehren Kruger.
The primary trailer has now been launched. The two minute 28 second trailer combines the exhilaration of System 1 with the compelling story of former F1 driver Sonny Hayes, performed by Brad Pitt. Dubbed ‘the best that by no means was’, Sonny Hayes was amongst System’s most promising phenom of the Nineteen Nineties till a serious accident.
30 years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), proprietor of a struggling F1 workforce on the breaking point. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back again to System 1 for one final shot at saving the workforce and being the very best on the earth. He drives alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the workforce’s hotshot rookie intent on setting his personal tempo. However because the engines roar, Sonny’s previous catches up with him and he finds that in F1, your teammate is your fiercest competitors—and the street to redemption will not be one thing you may journey alone.
The film can be distributed in theatres and in IMAX by Warner Bros. Photos internationally on June 25, 2025, and in North America on June 27, 2025.
The film started manufacturing in 2023 and in a collaboration with System 1, was granted entry to varied F1 Grands Prix to underpin its authenticity, with all F1 drivers, groups, the FIA, race promoters, and the broader F1 group serving to deliver the manufacturing to life.
