Marvin
Vettori’s first Octagon apppearance since July 2023 didn’t go
as he envisioned.
“The Italian Dream” suffered his second straight defeat within the
UFC Vegas 104 headliner, dropping a five-round verdict to
Roman
Dolidze in a middleweight rematch on the UFC Apex on Saturday
evening. Vettori defeated Dolidze through unanimous choice of their
first assembly at UFC 286 in March 2023.
Whereas Vettori rocked his adversary within the third body, Dolidze
in the end outstruck his rival and landed extra offense of
significance over the course of the 25-minute affair.
“Nothing too dangerous, just a few cuts and bruises,” Vettori mentioned on his
Instagram Tales. “F—ok man, life generally reveals you that even when
you give your coronary heart out and every part you bought, you continue to fall
brief. That was a detailed combat. I virtually had him within the third
[round] however I assume it wasn’t sufficient.”
It was Vettori’s first look since a unanimous choice loss
to Jared
Cannonier at UFC on ESPN 47. The previous title challenger
not too long ago relocated to
American Prime Crew in hopes of a recent begin.
“F—ok. I don’t even know what to say,” Vettori mentioned. “Thanks to
ATT. One of the best on the planet … thanks UFC. What the f—ok can I say?
I don’t know. That’s it.”
A former 185-pound title challenger, Vettori has misplaced three of his
final 4 Octagon appearances. The 31-year-old Italy native has
compiled a 9-6-1 UFC report since starting his promotional tenure
in 2016.
