Former ONE Championship gentle heavyweight and middleweight champion Reinier de Ridder made his UFC octagon debut on Saturday at UFC Vegas 100.
De Ridder defeated Gerald Meerschaert by the use of third-round submission in a bout that critics stated was “sloppy.”
Whereas he didn’t absolutely tackle the the explanation why he left ONE, the previous double champion did warn his friends to not signal with the promotion.
“That is one thing I really feel I’ve to do for different fighters — if you happen to’re considering of signing with ONE Championship, don’t,” de Ridder stated on the UFC Vegas 100 post-fight press convention. “It’s that easy. You shouldn’t. There’s nothing there. There’s no fights. You’re simply mistaken if you happen to do that, if you happen to signal there, this can be a unhealthy mistake.”
De Ridder, following 4 straight title victories in ONE Championship, would lose each of these belts in back-to-back outings in opposition to Anatoly Malykhin. He since rebounded with a win over Magomedmurad Khasaev (TKO) main as much as his UFC debut this previous weekend.
