You’ve heard of People in Paris? How about People in Auckland? Six of them, actually.
The quarerfinals at this 12 months’s ASB Traditional are 75 p.c stars and stripes after Workforce USA scored a banner day in Auckland final evening.

Friday’s final eight will function two all-American clashes, with Bernarda Pera dealing with Robin Montgomery, whereas Alycia Parks will tackle Katie Volynets. Moreover, top-seeded Madison Keys will play Denmark’s Clara Tauson and DC native Haily Baptiste will face seventh-seeded Naomi Osaka.
23-year-old Baptiste saved a match level to defeat Nice Britain’s Jodie Burrage, 5-7, 7-5, 7-6(6), to succeed in her maiden WTA quarterfinal. Montgomery, 20, beat Nao Hibino, 6-2, 6-2. Parks reached her first outside exhausting courtroom quarterfinal with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Greet Minnen, whereas Keys wanted simply 46 minutes to thump Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian, 6-1, 6-2.
All 4 quarterfinals will happen on Friday evening in Auckland (Thursday evening within the US).
